Refill Station Camden

What is the Refill Station

We have teamed up with Hemingway Design to build Refill Station Camden—our first trailer stall made from reclaimed and recycled materials.

Refill Station Camden sells unpackaged grains, liquids and cleaning products to customers with their own reusable bags, mugs or boxes. Biodegradable, recyclable or reusable storage containers are also be available.

We are partnering with local entrepreneurs, businesses, and market traders to help promote and sell local, ethical products and services to Camden residents at affordable prices.

This project is part funded by the London Waste & Recycling Board, and is supported by the North London Waste Authority and Fair-well.

Where can I find the Refill Station

From January 2020, Refill Station Camden is mainly based at Queen’s Crescent Market.

Ice-cream vans in Camden—public consultation

We want to ensure that ice cream trading across the borough is fair and safe. We are working to tackle ice cream van engine idling and unregulated trading—education, enforcement and regulation. During Summer 2019, “No unlicensed ice cream trading” signage was posted on the 40 streets prohibited for ice cream sales in Camden. Enforcement resources and patrols have been increased in prohibited ice cream sale streets. We issue fines and move on ice cream traders operating in the area.

Consultations will also take place to discuss the development of 6 areas within the borough where Camden will experiment with licensed ice cream trading permitted throughout the day. Vans would be allowed to trade so long as they operate with their engines switched off as well as a number of other licence requirements to include healthy choices and clear pricing, all designed to deal with common issues raised by residents and organisations.
